| My sister recently had a baby and I know she and my brother in law spent a lot of time thinking about a name. Most parents do. My parents named my sister and I after the Bionic Woman. My sister is Jaime because the Bionic Woman's alter ego was Jaime Summers and I am Jennifer Lindsey because she was played by Lindsey Wagner. My first name was chosen because my mom didn't know anyone named Jennifer. Jennifer was the top baby name for the year I was born. Go figure. Where am I going with this?
This Monday I went to the eye doctor and there seemed to be mix up with my records and my previous prescriptions. Come to figure out they had me mixed up with another Jennifer DuBois that lives in the town I now live in. This has been going on all my life. We went to the same dancing school, same eye doctor and got our prescriptions filled at the same drug store. To boot we are both Jennifer L. DuBois. I'm guessing I won't have any more of this trouble since my last name is now different. Let's hope this chick doesn't up and marry a Griffiths as well!
So many Jennifers in the world. I graduated with six of them and the other day as I sat waiting for another doctor's appointment, the woman who finished while I was waiting was named Jenna and three of us waiting to get called were named Jennifer. Craziness. When it comes time for me to find a name for my children in the future I think the best bet would to be finding the least popular name and going with that!
A final note...Tomorrow we are celebrating my little cousin Ryan's 10th birthday. I'm officially feeling old because I was old enough to drive myself to the hospital the day he was born and now he's turning TEN. Yikes.

| So here we are in 2006...I haven't updated in a while. In my last entry I mentioned Jake not wanting to come out into the world..Well they forced him out on December 15th. He's adorable and the best baby. My sister is tired, but she's doing an awesome job. Her motherly instincts have truly kicked in.
I am wrapping up my Christmas vacation. I did a lot of traveling in the car to start it all off going to various areas of Pennsylvania. All the different plans made it feel not like Christmas. I even took down my tree the Thursday afterwards. It seemed bigger this year than last and I wanted my space back.
Fun things I did...I went to see the Pietasters and the Bouncing Souls. I didn't dare stand in the crowd. I fully took advantage of being of age and being able to stand at the bar. No being pushed around by teenie boppers for me. It was a good show. The Pietasters didn't play nearly long enough and the Souls didn't play enough songs that I knew. I danced by butt off though so it was a good time.
New Years was at our house. Funny how the smaller get togethers are messier than the big ones. It was a good crowd and I had fun. I stayed up until four and then watched too many episodes of Meet the Barkers on MTV when I woke up.
We ventured out of the house to see The Ringer. I have to say that for a Johnny Knoxville flick it was pretty touching. He really cared about those guys. i was disappointed to come home and find out that most of them weren't even really retarded and the one guy we thought was faking really was retarded! Go figure!

| So Jake changed his mind. My sister spent all day Thursday trying to give Jake the boot but he wasn't budging. They sent her home and she has been back to be checked up on and she goes back in tomorrow to get something to help her labor come along.
Friday was a snow day. I got a lot done around the house. All my Christmas presents are wrapped. Rocky and Mia have decided to try to peek at what the presents are and are undoing all my hard work. The roads were fine by noon so I went to make Christmas cookies with the boys and Aunt Susie. Good times.
The JK Design holiday party was Friday night and we all had a great time. The gift swap got a little heated, but we came out happy with a Best Buy gift card.
I went out to visit my sister today. I hate that she is having such a hard time at the end of her pregnancy. She had a great nine months and now this last week is like torture. As much as I want Jake to be here, I want my sister to not have to go through all of this.
I'm going to watch Rocky battle the plastic thing from the milk carton a little longer and then head to bed. Back to the grind tomorrow.
Peace out.

| He's on his way. My sister has started her labor and little Jacob Michael is on his way. I'll be dreaming about and praying for my sister while she goes through one of the hardest nights of her life. I love you Jaime. I wish I could be with you. Muah!

| Well happy Thanksgiving to all. I had a pretty good holiday. No major wars amongst the family members. i got up at 4:35 a.m. on Friday to go "crazy shopping" as my little cousin Dylan calls it. I didn't even need anything- its just one of those traditions.
Friday night I slept over my sister's house. Its so strange to think that the next time I'm in that house there will be a new little person living there. I'm so excited for him to get here.
Being around my sister makes me want to have kids soon. It brings me to a big "what comes first, the chicken or the egg" kind of debate in my head. Do you wait to have a house before you have a kid? Do you have the kid and then buy the house? They say if you wait until you're "ready" then you'll never have them. I dunno. I guess I'll go get back to the lesson plans. Bah.
